LIGHTNING : Is it more during night than during day time?

WHY IS LIGHTNING MORE DURING NIGHT TIME AS COMPARED TO DAY TIME?

    It is not that lightening happens only at night.
    Infact, it happens at any time . You can see & hear it better at night, while due to too much noise at daytime you can't hear it & due to day-light you can't view it too.
