Japanese Robotic Farm To Harvest Crops From Tsunami Hit Land
Japan on one hand is a land of natural disasters and on the other is the mother of some of the greatest technology enthusiasts. This country is an ideal example of how to create wonders starting from scratch even if you have to do things over and over again. Last year's Tohoku Earthquake and the subsequent Tsunami, wrecked images of which still hover our minds, arose havoc and fear all across the world and turned the major areas into ashes. And now, giving it all a clean sweep, Japanâs agriculture ministry is going to create a #-Link-Snipped-# on a 600 acre plot of land destroyed by Tsunami.

The project is about removing the salt and depositing oil on the once-fertile farmland and making the robotic tractors work on them to make the land pesticide-free. The land will be alit by LEDs and these tractors will till, sow and reap all sorts of favorable crops in that region. There will be robotic controllers to supervise the whole system.
This plot of land is situated in Miyagi prefecture roughly 200 miles north of Tokyo. This ambitious project is of particular importance in Japan since it has limited agricultural land. Japan's major tech-giants like Panasonic, Hitachi, Fujitsu, NEC, Yanmar,  Ajinomoto and Ito-Yokado Co and Sharp will be collaborating for this project. With an investment of 10 billion yen, this idea will need a course of six years for successful implementation.
