Hyundai Creta SUV India Launch Scheduled For July 21

Automobile manufacturer, Hyundai Motor India Ltd has officially revealed the name of its compact sports utility vehicle (SUV), 'Hyundai Creta' (based on ix25 model). According to the sources, the brand new entrant will make its dynamic appearance on the coming July 21. Earlier, it was anticipated that the launch might take place anytime during the months from August to September. The upcoming model will be based on the company’s Fluidic Design Sculpture 2.0. Hyundai Creta will carry the design cues of the Santa Fe SUV.

Coming to the engine, the new SUV will probably have engine specifications similar to that of Hyundai Verna sedan. It will be available in the market in two petrol and two diesel engine variants. The petrol options -1.4-litre and 1.6-litre will make their presence. In case of diesel, it will be powered by either 1.4-litre U2 CRDi or 1.6-litre U2 CRDi. Moreover, the petrol variant will come with five-speed manual gearbox and the oil burner will be connected to a six-speed manual gearbox. Hyundai Creta will not be a sub-4 metre car. The 4,270 mm long SUV will be 1,780 mm in width and 1,622 mm in height. It will get a wheelbase of 2590 mm. If we take a look at the safety aspects, Hyundai Creta will have features such as ABS, EBD, 4 airbags, LED daytime running lamps and many more.

Apart from the manual transmission variant, the consumers will also have automatic transmission choice to select. In addition to the list, front-wheel and rear-wheel drive options will also be provided by the company. Hyundai Motor intends to reach to the numero uno position in the Indian auto market and the company also claims that it has achieved more than 90 per cent of localization. As per the sources, the Hyundai Creta will be priced in range of Rs 8 lakh to Rs 12 lakh. After the launch it will be clear whether the model has the potential to establish its reputation as well built for rugged terrain. It is most likely to compete against Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano and Tata Safari Storme.
