Hybrid Blue By BYU Engineering Students Is Batman Inspired Hybrid Racecar

Dr. Robert Todd and his team of 16 engineering students at Brigham Young University (BYU) have designed and built the 'Hybrid Blue' - an award winning hybrid race car. The Hybrid Blue design is surely inspired from Batman movies and has already won #1 spot in 2012 SAE Formula Hybrid competition held last week at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Dr. Todd is retiring after mentoring over 600 projects over the last 21 years at the University.

Hybrid Blue Accelerates From 0 - 100 kmph in just 3 seconds!

Hybrid Blue has been designed over the past 7 years under Dr. Todd's supervision. It employs 100-horsepower, 450-pounds-of-torque engine powered by 72 lithium polymer-celled battery pack and E-85 Fuel. The combo improves the fuel economy of this hybrid car without degrading the performance. In the competition, Hybrid Blue did 22 kilometer run with nearly 75% charge remaining. The car can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 3 seconds. Now that's really awesome, right? Further details are available on the BYU's #-Link-Snipped-#.
