Hackers compromised 8.5 million user's personal info at South Korea

Two South Korean hackers have stolen 8.7 miliion user's personal data from the nation's second biggest mobile operaters KT.

In a press release KT said, hackers stole data such as consumers names, phone numbers and residential registration numbers. They have been doing this now, for five months since February and sold the information to telemarketing firms. Per them half of their consumer's data (with a total consumer base of 17 million) base is compromised.

This is so common in South Korea then why their telecommunication companies doesn't improve their security?

Boy! That's eye popping! The hackers make a fortune selling people's data. I wonder what would happen if India's 'AADHAR' network is hacked and data is stolen.
