Google Play = Android Market + Google Music + Google eBookStore

Google's just made a new announcement - The Android Market is being replaced by 'Google Play'. Google calls it your 'Digital Entertainment Destination' where users can enjoy music & music, download their favorite books or apps for Android powered devices. The service is 100% cloud based which means no matter where you are located, you can get access to your stuff provided you've an Internet connection. It also means that you no longer have to worry about losing your content. Exciting, right?

Introducing Google Play!

Google Play lets you store around 20k songs for free and even purchase your favorite songs from the service. The Android Market had a collection of over 450,000 apps and all of them are available to you through Google Play. Google claims that the service offers largest collection of eBooks and you can rent out latest HD movies. What Google Play does is combine the three different verticals : The Android App Store, Google Music and eBookstore. Google promises to upgrade the official apps over the next few days. You can login to Google Play using your Google credentials just the way you used the three services. Watch this video demonstration of Google Play:-
