For the first time, Google is partnering with an investing firm <a href="https://www.kkr.com/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">KKR</a>) <a href="https://www.kkr.com/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">KKR</a>and a leading solar project developer #-Link-Snipped-#, over a solar energy project in  US.

Google reportedly will provide a $94 million equity investment and KKR through its newly formed venture SunTap Energy will offer the remaining equity, for these projects. Already, Google providing funding for installing solar panels on rooftops of over 10,000 homes, started this year. But, this is their first large-scale investment on the solar photovoltaic power plants that could supply a grid.

#-Link-Snipped-#The total capacity of this project comes around 88 MW, which has a capacity to power more than 13,000 homes . Also, for years, Google made a contract with Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD), to supply electricity for homes in Sacramento. Also, this is the first project that comes under #-Link-Snipped-#, provided by SMUD. For the Electricity generated from renewable energy resources and combined heat-power installations, a standard published rates and contract terms was offered by SMUD.

Google, #-Link-Snipped-#that they hope to inspire other companies and investors to dive into the green energy investment, planned to expand their clean energy portfolio further in the coming years.
