Google Daydream VR Tool Ready Smartphone: ZTE Axon 7 Launched In China

Keeping the craze untethered, Chinese Consumer Electronics brand ZTE has launched the ZTE AXON 7 with relevant hardware to support Google’s virtual reality platform, Daydream. Till now, the brand was only known as medium quality smartphone makers and solution provider which lacked the X-factor needed to leave a mark. But some quick up gradation in marketing strategy following the recent launch might improve the scenario as reported by various 3rd party sources. For convenience, it is to be noted that the Axon 7 is the current successor of Axon family, which released the Axon pro last year, a high range smartphone with cutting edge facilities but failed to compete with other popular brands that already created the benchmark (set higher than Axon Pros' reach).

From today onwards the phone will be available in China, at both outlets and online stores. Later, in mid-June, the company would globally announce the ZTE AXON 7 and roll out the latest version. Talking about its features, the phone is suited for people who favor metal body chassis over plastic or fiber covers. ZTE AXON 7 features a full aluminium metal mated sharp structure with up-down conjugated speaker points and a selfie camera. On the back side, the primary camera exists with the brand logo. Weighing 185 gram, the phone possesses a Dual nano SIM slot. It also features a 5.5 inch capacitive AMOLED touchscreen (resolution: 1440 x 2560 pixels) coupled with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection and MiFavor UI 4.0 element.

The system runs on the latest Android version v6.0.1 (Marshmallow) OS. Powered by Frequency set 2.15 GHz/1.6 GHz variants Dual-core Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 820, it boasts of two specific memory options, one being 64 GB internal memory clipped with 4 GB RAM and another 128 GB internal memory supported by 6 GB RAM. In both variants, the memory (external) is further expandable up to 128 GB with microSD card feature. Putting the spotlight on the camera, it offers one 20 MP primary camera with autofocus dual tone flash and front facing 8 MP secondary camera. The phone is packed with undetachable Li-Ion 3140 mAh battery and comes with Ion Gold and Quartz Grey variants.

Although some of these specifications mentioned above are worthy of being under consideration, the main USP is its supporting quality corresponding to recently announced Daydream VR platform by Google. It sports a 9-axis Gyroscope and unmatchable sound enhancements that could maintain its standard as a Google VR partner. Although, we still have some time left to lay our hands on Google VR platform Daydream, ZTEs’ decision of rolling out such VR ready smartphones is not only an intuitive idea to grab the crowds’ attention but also it worked as a boost to push the venture one step forward in terms of validating the technology. The feature packed phone is currently up for grabs with a price tag of $450 (near about Rs. 31,000).
