"Google 4 Doodle" Contest! Register Your Kid Now!

"Google Doodle" - a phenomena that captures imagination, imparts knowledge, creativity and entertainment - all at once. The logo fêtes any important national/global event which may include festivals, culture, art, technological advancements etc. For the third time now, Indian students have been invited to design a doodle on Children's Day, the 14th of November. Earlier such contests received such a huge enthusiastic response, that Google wanted the kids to participate again to get their doodle sported on the Google homepage. The theme for this year's doodle is  'India's gift to the world', and all children in the age group of 5 to 16 years are eligible to participate. See, these are such instances where you hate being an adult.

The winner of this contest will not only witness his/her doodle hogging all the limelight, but also receive a prize technology starter kit, which has a laptop, one year free internet connectivity. Also, a Two Lakh Rupees to the winner's school shall be handed out. Simailar to last year's contest, the participants shall be divided into three different categories, viz., 1st to 3rd Standard, 4th to 6th Standard and 7th to 10th Standard. Then entries from each category shall be selected and reviewed by a panel comprising members from the top Indian Art Schools. The top 15 entries from each category would be shortlisted, i.e.  a total of 45 doodles in all. These 45 doodles will then be made available for public voting and depending of the number of votes a doodle receives, the winner shall be declared. The original google Doodler, Dennis Hwang, shall announce the final winner.

To enroll yourself or your kids to participate in this event, #-Link-Snipped-#. This can be done either individually or through their schools. Also, through schools it can be registered only if the school is prepared to gather up and put forward the doodles on behalf of their students. Make sure that you register in appropriate age-groups as given. Last date of submission is 15th September, 2011.
