Garmin Vivosport Smart Activity Tracker comes to India with built-in GPS at Rs.15,990
Garmin, an American multinational known for its wearable technology and specialized services in GPS for use in automotives, marine and sport utility sectors, has launched Vivosport smart activity tracker in India. The fitness band is GPS-enabled (built-in) with a built-in heart rate sensor as well. Priced at Rs. 15,990 the smart tracker incorporates fitness monitoring tools such as Vo2 max that indicates the amount of oxygen pumped into the blood during userâs workout session.
The activity tracker is compact enough for an all-day wear, and is especially safe while swimming and showering. Its always-on Garmin Chroma Display color touchscreen is responsive and bright enough to see - even in direct sunlight. The built-in GPS enables tracking of distance, time, speed or pace, calories burnt etc and maps it all out on Garmin Connect. It further comes preloaded with additional timed activities, including strength training and cardio to help usersâ customize their work out sessions.
With the heart rate data it collects, Vivosport estimates usersâ VO2 max and fitness age, two crucial indicators of physical fitness that can improve over time with regular exercise. It also tracks HRV (heart rate variability), which is used to calculate and display oneâs all-day stress levels. The wearable is fully smartphone compatible to allow access to oneâs text messages, social media updates, music controls, emails and more. Users can also let friends follow their activities with the LiveTrack feature.
The interested owners of the wearable can further sync their activities to Garmin Connect- which is a thriving online community where users on the go can connect and compete by joining challenges, encourage each otherâs successes and even share triumphs via social media. The battery backup of the activity tracker is slated to last up to 7 days of life in smartwatch mode and up to 8 hours in GPS mode. Garmin Vivosport would retail via AmazonIndia and other select offline channels like Croma, Reliance Digital, Helios and Garmin Kiosks in coming days.
