Digispark Is Arduino Compatible USB Development & Production Platform

We've been following #-Link-Snipped-# here on CrazyEngineers for quite some time now. The micro-controller kit has been used by hackers in a number of interesting electronics project including Robotic Minion Starter Kit, Mini-Satellites and even to play Mario. But Portland based Erik Kettenburg wanted to create a mini-Arduino that would be smaller & cheaper. Meet Erik Kettenburg's Kickstarter project called '#-Link-Snipped-#'.

Digispark can be programmed using Arduino IDE (Integrated Development Environment), so don't expect a big learning curve. All the details of the kit are available on official Kickstarter project. Do take a look and if possible, shell out a few dollars to the project. Here's introduction video -

Digispark Tech Specs

[learn_more]

  • Support for the Arduino IDE 1.0+ (OSX/Win/Linux)

  • Power via USB or External Source - 5v or 7-35v (automatic selection)

  • On-board 500ma 5V Regulator

  • Built-in USB (and serial debugging)

  • 6 I/O Pins (2 are used for USB only if your program actively communicates over USB, otherwise you can use all 6 even if you are programming via USB)

  • 8k Flash Memory (about 6k after bootloader)

  • I2C and SPI (vis USI)

  • PWM on 3 pins (more possible with Software PWM)

  • ADC on 4 pins

  • Power LED and Test/Status LED (on Pin0)
