What better way to celebrate the 25th year of the Canon EOS era, than announcing the arrival of its new baby- #-Link-Snipped-#. The package arriving with the device boasts of a 22.3MP full-frame Canon CMOS sensor, Digic 5+ imaging processor and a 61-point High Density Reticular AF system, 6 fps continuous shooting speed.

Apparently, the highest resolution DSLR camera to have jumped out of the company's womb, the #-Link-Snipped-# has a fixed headphone jack for supervising audio when shooting videos. It is capable of shooting 1080p HD videos at 24p (23.976), 25p and 30p (29.97) fps, and 720p at 60 (59.94) and 50 fps. It is powered by a LP-E6 Li-ion battery, and has a 3.2 inch LCD as an optical viewfinder.

Canon acknowledges the fact that though not as weatherproof as the EOS-1D series, this camera does resist the 'elements' better than Canon EOS Mark II. Also, the gripping is firmer on this body.

The price tag for body-only is $3,499, whereas shelling out $4,299.00 would also get you the EF24-105mm f/4L IS USM zoom lens. The camera would be made available for retail later this month. Just waiting to grab this monster and check out this beauty for myself, and I'm sure you all are puking rainbows!
