Bed Cum Wheel Chair with Lavatory
Project Abstract / Summary : A portable bed cum wheel chair which has an inbuilt toilet module attached with automatic flushing system for bed-ridden patients.Can be used in both sitting and lying position.Flushing system for waste removal,body cleaning,pumping disinfectant are some of the features of this product.Air drying is provided to ensure that there is no moisture related problems.Proper hygiene is also ensured.Waste tank and water tanks are provided within the system.highly hygienic,easy to operate,odour free,simple and cost effective product which could minimize the stress of care takers of bed ridden patients.Highly useful for patients who do not have proper control over their excretory system.
Why did you choose to work on this project topic : We got a chance to visit the alpha pain and palliative care center.By seeing the pathetic situation of paralyzed people we thought of developing a tool which maintains the dignity of old and bedridden patients and reduce the stress of their caretakers.
Project Highlights : Nowadays old and bedridden patients are a burden for their family.Also for a bedridden patient depending on others for their routine activities is a matter of their dignity.
2 percentage of the world's population is either paralyzed or has spinal cord related problems.So a tool like this could be a great relief to the patients and their caretakers.Since the tool is portable we don't need to isolate the patients from the rest of the home.
Winning this project is winning the blessings of old and bedridden people.Everyone gets old.Today or Tomorrow we might also face a similar situation;either as a patient or a caretaker.
