Any suggestions for preventing spam through 'Contact Us'?

Ever since going live, we're fighting with an unexpected problem - the spam we're getting through the 'Contact Us' page on the site. Though we have Google's latest reCAPTCHA service enabled, the spammers are unstoppable. It looks like the computer scripts are smart enough to get past the "I'm not a robot" test. 

We are now considering opting for AKISMET. Would love to have your suggestions on fighting spam effectively.

    May be honeypot should help, give your hidden field name something like first_name and if set then reject that message

    #-Link-Snipped-#‍ - Thank you for quick help. Looks like we've a ton of Russian spammers targeting our Contact Us form. I'm suspecting human spammers.
