Answer Calls While Holding Phone Upside Down, Says Google Patent

The US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has revealed many innovations in the past such as Apple’s patents on #-Link-Snipped-# and the #-Link-Snipped-#. This time it’s the turn of Google. According to the records of USPTO that were made public recently, Google had filed a patent in June 2011 for a technology which would help you answer calls even if you are holding the phone upside down. This technology will consist of two microphone-speaker systems located at either ends to provide microphone and speaker capabilities depending on the orientation of the phone. The diagram submitted by Google for the patent claim is shown below which explains the working of this system.

Since the time smartphones have entered in the market they tend to have the same symmetrical design which might be causing confusion to the users. So this facility might provide a solution to this problem. But according to the source, it is not sure whether Google plans to introduce this feature in their smartphones or not.
