An I find a career in automobile design, without degree in the same discipline?

can i go to automobile designing(sketching,clay modelling,etc) field (jobs) with out a degree in automotive design or any transportation design....instead i have option to do m.tech in automobile engineering by taking GATE...after getting an automobile engineer job how can i go for that designing field....pls give me reply ASAP..
