Wordpress.com Blocked By Indian ISP Tata Photon, 25 Million Hosted Blogs Suffer
According to reports, it has now been confirmed that Tata Photon has blocked access to the Wordpress.com domain across India.  This move was made by the ISP following the government order to block web pages containing offensive content. Instead of blocking individual URLs of this domain they have implemented what is being termed as a ‘blanket ban’ on the entire domain. Meanwhile free proxy sites can be used to access the Wordpress on Tata Photon which confirms that there is no trouble with the Wordpress server.

Registered Wordpress users can log in to their account on Wordpress but certain features for the Dashboard are still inaccessible. For example, the user can view website statistics section but cannot make new posts and edit previous ones. To protest against this issue, Indian bloggers have formed Indian Bloggers' Forum which is set to file a PIL with the Supreme Court to unblock the site.
