in bluetooth technology, frequency is changed 1600 times/second(for security reason). Why this much hoping is done where we can secure data with only 10 or 15 hopes/second.any genuine reason for so much frquency hoping?

Basically frequency hoping is used to prevent jamming and intervention may be this is the reason to prevent bluetooth signal interfering with other signals around the particular area

Why do you tell that 10 or 15 hops are enough to get a secure communication?

Basically, bluetooth uses frequency hopping spread spectrum to secure the communication. Here, higher the rate of change of frequency, larger is the apparent bandwidth of the signal and so, that much tougher it gets to jam the signal. So, I think it'd be very easy to jam a signal which hops only 10 to 15 times a second.

i thought it would be much tougher to crack the frequency hoping sequence even if there is 10 to 15 hopes/second. So i thought 1600 hopes /second is much more than sufficient.
