Has anyone here noticed that if one person yawns before you, you also yawn. I am sure this is not one of life's deepest mysteries, but still why is yawning contagious? 😲
Is there a scientific reason to this?

There were some reports about increased levels of carbon dioxide in crowded rooms being a cause of collective yawning (in class rooms and seminars!)

So, you mean if there are only 3-4 people in open air, contagious yawning won't occur?

Not quite. The two may be different phenomena.
