not much to debate here, but for fun sake i'll play along.

Why linux is better:

- Almost no viruses
- Negligible driver issues
- FREE of cost, legally!!
- comes with basic software that most users need
- You can customise almost everything
- Doesn't hang as much
- loads of desktop managers to choose from
can't think of more right now

problems with linux

- not all windows software works on it. most due to lack of vendor support
- installation isn't everyone's cup of tea
- some settings may require you to use the terminal, which can be intimidating for a noob
