What is Window Size - is it fixed for operating systems?

Can any one explain me what is wwindow size. Is it fixed for a particular OS. If at all it changes what is the criteria.

    can you repeat your qustion briefly beacause wnt to know your qustion is progrmming side(graphics prgm) or just size of the screen

    if you are talking about OS window size ...i think its not fixed...it changes as per display size and everything on window gets fitted to display...if you are creating window in application for ex. in VB..you can set it .
