i have googled about vacuum triode.we know this replaced by the invention of transistors. my doubt is why the air removed from tubes?
i red that in vacuum electron move freely but in presence of air what are the drawbacks?

Air offers resistance to the motion of electrons due to self ionisation effect

That is when electron moves through air the air gets ionised and offers an additional resistance to the flow of electron

This effect can be removed if we use a vaccum.
