    sorry ,answer is 50% .
    Cost price = 15 * 1 - 5 = 10
    Profit = 5
    % profit = 100*profit/cost = 50%

    Ahh! ๐Ÿ˜›
    Correct. The answer is 50%.

    Most of the people get this question wrong in the first attempt. Even I did. ๐Ÿ˜

    But as I said think logically. Let me give the logical explanation:
    Only the banana vendor got it correct. Why? Because the profit is his daily bread. So he thought it logically, rather than applying the formula. He sold 1 banana for 1 rupee. He sold 15 bananas for 15 rupees. His profit is 5 rupees. So out of 15 rupees, his profit is 5 rupees; which means he bought the 15 bananas for 10 rupees and his profit is 5 rupees, i.e. half the price that he bought it for. So his profit is 50%. ๐Ÿ˜€

    I remember reading a book called Swami and Friends by R K Narayan , have you read it. It is based on life of Swami who is a school kid. He is given a similar problem in exam , and instead of solving it he gets angry because he feels the cost of the bananas is too high. ๐Ÿ˜€

    Yeah that's very correct, lemme put it in a simpler form.

    Formula=sellsprice - costprice

    profit =5rupee
    sellsprice =15
    and
    costprice =?

    5=15-costprice
    :. Costprice=10rupee

    %profit=profit/costprice*100%
    =5/10*100%
    =50%
    Therefore %profit=50%

    Yes, we can find it out with the formula.
    But the aim of this puzzle to answer it quickly, more logically.
    This is a kind of question that is often asked in entrance exams where we have to solve 1 question in less than 1 minute. If we start solving it with the formula, yeah 3minutes are gone there. ๐Ÿ˜
