I was wondering what is the logic behind this, How it works, I tried to analyze source code and didn't found any thing

Vishal SharmaI think the reason behind this is, the device through which you access your facebook account. If you notice, the smiley's in your smartphone are different than the smiley's on your PC. So, if a person posts some smiley (via smartphone) which is unknown to PC, then it shows boxes there! -
Manish Goyalbut if you copy paste square box in textarea to post it , then it will eventually turn it into a smiley, it seems to be random not sure though
