'Wammy Desire' & 'Wammy Athena' Tablets - Overview Of Specs & Features
Wickedleak Inc. has launched two brand new tablets named Wammy Desire and Wammy Athena for Rs. 6499 and Rs. 13999 respectively. Both the tablets run on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and the company claims that they're the first ones in India to launch tablet powered by latest android to Indian markets. Let us give you a quick overview of both these tablets -
It looks like the 7" tablet screen size is fast becoming the default standard. The Wammy Desire offers you a 7" capacitive touch-screen. Under the hood, you'll have a dual-core 1.5 GHz processor along with 1 Gigabyes of RAM. For your connectivity needs, the Wammy Desire offers support for the 3G dongle. The tablet offers 0.3 MP front facing camera for your video conferncing needs. The tablet comes with 8GB of internal storage, which is just enough to store few of your files. But you can always expand it by up to 32 GB via the micro SD card. The desire has Wi-Fi, but the details aren't known yet. The system is powered by a 3000 mAh battery that should give you at least 3-4 hours of productivity time.
The Athena is the bigger brother of the Desire and has 9.7" (a la iPad) IPS capacitive touch-screen. It too has a 1.5 GHz processor, 1 GB DDR3 RAM and like the Wammy Desire, it offers 3G dongle support. The Athena has 2.0 MP rear camera (which is absent in the Desire) and a 0.2 MP front facing camera. On the internal storage front, the Athena has 16 GB of internal memory which can be expanded to 32 GB. You'll have HDMI support and a bigger 8000 mAh battery.
The Wammy Desire is priced at Rs. 6499 and Wammy Athena will retail for Rs. 13999. Though the Athena is more capable than the Desire, we think the price difference is more than what we'd expect. But let's face it - these are the first tablets to offer you Android Jelly Bean. It's not sure whether the hardware will support further updates of the firmware.
The tablets can be pre-ordered from the Wickedleak.org website and the delivery is expected to start on October 14, 2012.
