Uber Releases An Important Update For Driver-End Application To Ensure Driver-Safety
The multinational online transportation company, Uber has recently updated its driver-end application to ensure drivers are not only safe but satisfied with the voluminous packages. Uber has taken up the new policy to provide enough amenities to its service providers which might as well work in favor of the company. Putting as in whole, it has rather taken an avatar of driving solution solvers and practitioners.
In the press release they highlighted, although most of the car crashes happen due to illegal alcohol intake, other burning issues might take the leading role very soon if not diminished while it could be done. A road safety expert team has categorized these issues with 4 Dâs named as drunk, drugged, distracted and drowsy driving. Today itself, Uber has taken a prompt action to resolve most of them and keep the balance in check.
As mentioned earlier, drunk driving has been a severe cause for such accidents and it has been noted in the past, people trusted Uber service and made a safer choice. Statistically speaking, a survey reveals that from 2010 to 2015, arrests due to alcohol intake has exponentially fallen down from 2243 to 1535 in Atlanta. This indirectly suggests that Uber has been partially successful to extend their business in form of safe service.
Going back to the point, the new application has been updated with a series of features in association with Governorâs Highway Safety Association and Mothersâ Against Drunk Driving organization. The new features include four different sections and each having its stand-alone existence.
Firstly, daily reports will be sent to individual drivers where the data received from their performance will be compared and completely tabbed. This will also ensure that the driver has gotten enough rest before boarding the next set of riders. The application will pop up stickers relevant to driversâ current status. Messages will also direct the drivers to dock the phone in the proper place rather than holding it while driving. The screen also features the current speed of the vehicle. The newest feature will soon roll out for drivers in 11 cities of US whereas the rest will soon get a chance to grab the same.
