Two Suppliers For iPhone 5 Camera

iPhone 4 was the best which rendered everyone thinking what will Apple pull out from their sleeves to make the iPhone 5 appealing to others. Here is something which is confirmed as an upgrade, the camera of iPhone 5 will be of 8 megapixel. Two Taiwan based manufacturers Largan Precision and Genius Electronic Optical have been contracted for manufacturing the 8 megapixel optics. Both these companies were also the suppliers for the 5 megapixel camera of iPhone 4.



With over 47 million iPhone sold in the last year and 55 million units in the first seven months of this year, it is expected to exceed 100 million units in 2011 with iPad sales exceeding 30 million units. With this improvement Taiwan's optical lens industry is expected to command a 40% share in the global market which was dominated by Japanese lens makers three to four years ago.

iPhone 5 has lately been in news with reports of missing iPhone 5 prototype and SFPD searching home of someone suspected of taking the iPhone 5 prototype left at the bar. In some additional news T-Mobile has already started taking pre-orders of iPhone 5 in United States with expectation of launch of the phone in late October along with iCloud and iOS 5.
