Twitter has finally come up with a solution to probably one of the most annoying and persistent flaws. The read/unread status of DMs would be now synced across all platforms, which means your phone won't buzz once you have already read your messages on desktop and vice versa. With the promise of no further misleading notifications, this vastly co-ordinated Twitter update includes Android, iPhone, iPad, Mac, Twitter.com, mobile.twitter.com, and TweetDeck. Unfortunately, the message alerts will only sync across all official Twitter apps. This leaves out Robrid, Falcon Pro and others, at least until they catch up.

The Twitter app has been already updated and there are a few more noteworthy changes along with DM sync. Minor changes to the Search now allow you to see user avatars. Also, pssst, you can now clear past searches from the dropdown menu. Not like you were stalking anybody or anything. If you have new Tweets for your query, they will show up while searching along with account information with bios and social context. Twitter has also updated its Mac client to include Interactions and support six new languages: Danish, Filipino, Finnish, Norwegian, Swedish and Thai. The syncing will roll out gradually, but it's already working for most people.

Admittedly, I am kind of behind when it comes to Twitter usage. But I think Twitter is actually a great platform to post automated data from internet enabled devices. Lots of potential.. ☕ Worth to check out the APIs.
