  • C-DAC, or Centre for Development of Advanced Computing, has got another reason to swell its chest. It's supercomputer #-Link-Snipped-# has bagged the first position in India in the list of "Top 500 'Green' Supercomputers in The World" recently announced at the supercomputing Conference (SC'2013) in Denver, Colorado, USA, thus pushing C-DAC's name further up in High Performance Computing. Apart from the top slot in India, Param Yuva II has claimed the ninth spot in the Asia Pacific region, and the forty-fourth spot in the worlds when compared with other top-notch highly efficient systems."

Congratulating the entire team for this feat, Rajat Moona, Director-General, C-DAC, stated that this honor was a proud moment for all. A release issued by C-DAC stated- "C-DAC is the second organisation in the world to have carried the level-3 measurement of power versus performance for 'Green500' list, which is an indication of the most rigorous level of measurement exercise performed for such ranking."

C-DAC launched the fastest Indian supercomputer Param Yuva II earlier this year. This supercomputer has a peak speed of 524 Teraflops which is ten times the processing capability of its predecessor the Param Yuva-I which had a peak speed of 54 Teraflops.
