Sony has launched a new ultra portable mobile projector in India called the MP-CL1. This smartphone sized short throw projector can turn any surface into a viewing experience. It’s no lens structure makes it more compact than any other portable projector in the market. Unlike LCD projectors often suffer from blurry image reproduction, the Sony MP-CL1 uses laser projection that results in sharper and vivid images. The Sony MP-CL1 can achieve resolution of 40 inches at projection distance of 3.77 ft (1.15 m). You can even chose larger screen sizes of 80 inches and 120 inches. No matter what the size is or what distance the projector lies from the screen, the Pico Projector module inside it can keep the image in focus at any short projection distance. This means you no longer have to adjust the screen or the projector for a perfect projection.

The Sony MP-CL1 has a true 16:9 aspect ratio and it can project at 720p resolution. The projector is capable of projecting full colour resolution with a contrast ratio of 80,000:1. The laser diode on the Sony MP-CL1 can last for approximately 2000 hours. The highlight of this projector is the plethora of connectivity options. You can use HDMI, MHL or Wi-Fi to connect a media device with the Sony MP-CL1. You can hook up a sound system or headphones of your choice with the Sony MP-CL1. The 3400mAh battery on the Sony MP-CL1 lasts for up to two hours and you can plug it directly to the power socket for extended viewing as well.

The Sony MP-CL1 also manages to minimise laser speckle noise with the help of in-house optical technology. No matter what angle you are projecting the video or even on to distorted surfaces the image always looks normal. The Sony MP-CL1 isn’t what you call cheap, with a price tag of Rs 26,990 it’s not an impulse buy.
