Sony Launches Xperia Z1 Compact; 4.3 inch 720p Screen, Snapdragon 800 Processor & 20.7 MP Camera

Sony has started off its CES 2014 appearance by unveiling the sibling of the Sony Xperia Z1 - The Waterproof Flagship With 20MP Exmor RS Sensor And BIONZ Processing Engine. The Xperia Z1 Compact embodies most of the features of the flagship Sony Mobile device by having the same rear 20.7 MP Exmor RS CMOS image sensor with pulsed LED flash and front 2MP snapper which utilise Sony’s own BIONZ mobile image processing engine. While companies like Nokia and Samsung are busy developing bigger screen devices that can cover your entire face, Sony seems to have paid a heed to customers’ request of smartphones which can be easily operated by a single hand. The Xperia Z1 Compact has got a smaller 4.3 inch screen which loaded with Sony display technologies like TRILUMINOS and X-Reality and has a resolution of 1280x720 pixels. The phone is as dust resistant and waterproof as its predecessor.

The memory stats remain the same with 16 GB of internal memory and up to 64GB of external memory via microSD cards. With the Xperia Z1 Compact you get connectivity options like NFC, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, Miracast, DLNA, Bluetooth 4.0 and microUSB and navigation sensors like GPS and GLONASS. The smartphone works on LTE networks and is powered by 2300 mAh battery which can help it to last for up to 670 hours on standby and offer up to 10 hours of talktime.

The Xperia Z1 Compact will be available in black, white, pink and lime colour variants globally from February. There is no word on the pricing yet. For more on the Xperia Z1 Compact, head over to the #-Link-Snipped-# and #-Link-Snipped-#.

I think Sony is onto a real winner with the Xperia Z1 Compact - it has a high-end specification, a premium design, comes in an attractive colour range and a form-factor which is more suitable to those accustomed to Apple's iPhone range...The best things come in small packages.... But DASH missed that TRILUMINOUS capacitive touchscreen display that features X-Reality for this mobile technology.... Focus more... "DASH"
