Skype-Slack Integration Brings Voice And Video Calls On The Team Collaboration Platform
Recently announced integration of Skype and messaging platform Slack by Microsoft, is set to allow users use the voice and video call functionality from within Slack threads during collaborations at work place. The integration can be done by visiting the #-Link-Snipped-#, and clicking on the 'Add to Slack' button to complete the setup. Once the required team is assembled and is in place, choose âAuthorizeâ to confirm the team selected. âChange teams,â option allows you to switch teams. You just need to type inside any channel of Slack to start a free group call.
Once set in motion, a join link will appear to let others connect in. It allows anyone on the team to join the call whether they have a Skype account or not. It therefore enables a real-time communication as Slack members can also join as guests on a computer, or they can sign in using their Skype name or with a Microsoft account. The assimilation spans across varied platforms such as web, Windows, Mac, iOS or Android, where a Slack notification alerts you to a Skype call ensuring you donât ever miss it. All one needs on the desktop is a web browser or a Skype mobile app to join in from a smartphone.
The feature is currently in Preview mode (beta release) and has no clear signs yet as to when will it exit this. It is available at #-Link-Snipped-# and on Skype | Stay connected with free video calls worldwide too.
Skype has of late introduced a spate of new features such as free group voice calls and video calls, integration with Outlook.com, update for Windows 10 along with Skype 6.0 for Android, iPhone and iPad. This week and the past year have surely been big for Skype, and with Slackâs rapidly growing communication platform having 2 million daily active users, and 570,000 paid seats, the integration could be a great leap ahead.
