Seagate Backup Plus 4 TB Fast HDD And Up To 2 TB Slim HDD Announced

Seagate, the world's leading data storage company, has launched two new HDD options in India. The first one is a 4TB Backup Plus Fast Portable Drive and the other one is Seagate Backup Plus Slim Portable Drive, which comes in three variants - 500GB, 1TB and 2TB. Rajesh Khurana, country manager India and SAARC for Seagate Technology, believes that the new set of Hard Drives will make the process of taking backups as simple as possible. Let us take a look at the various specifications and features of both the new hard disks in town.

The 4TB Backup Plus Fast Portable Drive comes with a preloaded Seagate Dashboard for choosing between either scheduled or continuous backup options. At a weight of 0.307 kg, the product is available only in back color and has the dimensions - 116.90mm length and 82.50mm width. The Hard Drive comes with a USB 3.0 Cable and of course 3-year limited warranty. According to the #-Link-Snipped-#, this drive is 2x faster than other portable hard drives (data transfer speeds up to 220MB/s). Sporting a sleek, tough, metal design, the hard disk is compatible with both Microsoft Windows and Apple's Mac OS X operating systems. The 4TB Fast Drive is priced at Rs 25,000 in India.

Next one on the radar it the - Seagate Backup Plus Slim Portable Drive. Available in the combination of size and color variants, customers can choose between the capacities - 500 GB, 1TB and 2TB and color options - Blue, Black, Red and Silver. The 18-inch drive, comes with a NTFS driver for Mac preloaded and brings the same 3-year limited warranty. Inside the box, you'll find a USB 3.0 cable as well as a quick start guide.


This one also comes with a Seagate Dashboard and features easy mobile backup using the Seagate Mobile Backup App. Users can easily share files between Windows and Mac computers as well as from their Facebook, Flickr and YouTube accounts.

Coming to the price and availability, the Seagate Backup Plus Slim 500GB is priced at Rs 4,250 and the 1TB and 2TB versions are priced at Rs 6,000 and Rs 10,500 respectively. Interested people can buy the hard drives from Seagate's online store or retailers such as Croma or Reliance Digital in India.
