Today in this era of social networking, we have various social networking sites which provide us with the opportunity to share our thoughts, keep in touch of a hundreds of people at a time and what not. To be specific, twitter allows us to share some short messages with everybody. With foursquare, you have the power to share your location at your disposal. With Instagram, you can share your photos are any time you want. IntoNow provides you the facility of sharing what you are currently watching on the television.

[IMG]Even after having done such great developments one area remains untouched. It is “sharing the song you are listening at the moment”. We have a tremendous potential in that area and therefore the Schematic Lab is aiming at making this possible with their first product of sound tracking. Steve Jang the founder of the Schematic lab realized that we could share all other information but not the song which we are listening at the moment which inspired him to develop the Sound Tracking. We have some great music identifying applications like Shazam and SoundHound but unfortunately  ( fortunately for schematic labs), they are not social.

But this application is something more than music sharing. It is also about sharing the feeling. It is about sharing your location and letting your friends see what you see as you share your music. It also helps explain your situation to some extent. “<em>You don’t just want to share the Bon Iver song. You want to share it with the image of raindrops on your window</em>,” Jang says (<a href="https://techcrunch.com/2011/03/11/soundtracking/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">SoundTracking Sets Out To Share Your Music Moments In A Postcard-Like Manner • TechCrunch</a>).

As rightly said musical experience is about what you are doing while listening to the music and this is what sound tracking facilitates. This means if you have shared a music with picture, then that picture will be the background of your music share. But for the other person to hear what you have shared, he will be requiring to fire up the iTunes application. Moreover, you can hear the song for not more than 30 seconds but they are working to increase the play time. It also provides you the facility of commenting on the share. They are also working on the launch of the Android version of the sound tracking. The people who have invested in this venture are : True ventures, AOL ventures, Google ventures,  Keith Rabois, Bill Tai, Alfred Lin, Garrett Camp, and Hunter Walk. The AOL is soon launching a competitive product named PLAY.

So people, ready to share your song with a tinge of symphony or melancholy?
