Recently, Facebook Messenger saw an update and now Samsung’s cross-platform instant messaging software ChatOn has been updated to version 3.5, which packs some exciting new features. The major upgrade will have enhanced features like recalling sent messages, sharing files of size up to 1GB and allowing users to share their real-time location with other users for a specific time period. Further, the update will also see group size being increased to a maximum limit of 1001 people, enabling users to publicize activities on a large platform.

Let’s take a closer look at these updates. First up is the ability to recall sent messages. For those who often make typo errors, this update is made only for you. Message recall allows you to remove your sent messages, even if they are read by other users. You just need to tap and hold the message bubble and select ‘Recall’ to remove the sent message. Next, a major change comes in the form of boosting file sharing capabilities. Although, this upgrade allows users share large files up to 1GB but with a limit of five large videos each day. Another new feature lets people share their real-time location for a specified period of time through the integration with the Glympse application. Version 3.5 sees improved message integration which allows users to manage their ChatON and SMS/MMS messages from the same sender in a single chat.

Moreover, the updated version now supports 14 languages with the addition of Arabic, Turkish, Hindi and Farsi. We’ll have to wait and see if this update helps ChatOn retain its customers and helps increase its customer base or not.
