robotic arms
i want to make hydraulic arms for an autonomous robot.what's the best mechanism to do so.i have thought of hydraulic arms but since it is automatic i have thought of using servo motors but is it possible to lock these motors in a particular position.if so how?

ramaseenuA rack and pinion movement can be used as hinge for robotic arm link along with stepper motor or any hydraulic actuator used to power it.
