    I read in the comments:

    Shutdown of social media should not be used to quench civil unrest. Terrorism is a justifiable reason. Any official that silences social media during a civil situation by citing a risk of terrorism must be held accountable. It is a shame that we have to protect ourselves from our own "protectors."
