request:Project in networking

Hi seniors
I m looking for my final year proj in networking.
I was looking to make something new in fiber optics i thought of a new hyper speed lan using fiber optics, as fiber optics available now are hard to cripple and establish. What can i do for creating a user friendly networks of great speed?
If any one could help me it would be great.
