Project Sparsh 'The Mistry Touch' - Pranav's Mythology Inspired Technology [Video]
Invisible computing is well on its way, and the first baby steps have been taken. The 31 year old computer "designer" Pranav Mistry, who awed the world with his SixthSense technology at TEDIndia-Mysore 2009, didn't fail to awe the attendees again at the recent Nasscom Leadership Forum, where he presented his latest offering to technology- the project SPARSH (meaning 'Touch'). The research assistant at MIT showed the attendees how data can be sent/copied from one device to another by touching the first device, and then touching the second device.

Also, he stated that every device linked to a network possesses a unique IP address. This IP addresses distinguishes the device from others and can be controlled by switch/remote or any similar electronic instrument. If the fan at your house can be distinguished using its IP address, then it can be switched on/off using an app on one's mobile phone. He named this technology TeleTouch. He also had a pair of HD glasses on display, which could cast any device on the wall, and can translate any text that has been created to the person's desired language- #-Link-Snipped-#.
The main motto behind all these innovations, Mistry explains, is to break the technological limitations, and get the user to interact better with his/her technological environment. He finds his main inspirations in Hindu Mythological characters. He believes every culture is blessed with its problems and solutions, and that every solution may not always be technology-related.
