Playbook OS 2.0 Update Available For Download. Here's What's New!

Research In Motion (RIM), the company behind Blackberry brand has released 2.0 update for the Playbook. The impatient ones should quickly head over to the 'Settings' tab on your tablet and and check for 'Software Update'. Being a major OTA update for the operating system, expect loads of new features & overhaul in this upgrade. The native email client, calendar & contact apps have been updated and feature social network integration. The supported social networks include Facebook, Twitter & LinkedIn.

Improved Email App In Playbook OS Upgrade

The email app now offers unified inbox. That means all your work, personal & SN messages will now be displayed under one inbox; which makes it easier for you to access & respond to them. The calendar & contacts app now tightly integrate with Facebook, Twitter & LinkedIn and offer a consolidated view of the contacts. RIM has introduced a BlackBerry® Bridge™ App that bridges your blackberry tablet with your blackberry smartphone so that you can view your smartphone apps like BBM™, Email, Contacts, Calendar and Browser on a bigger real estate offered by the tablet. One cool use of this app is that you can use your blackberry smartphone's keyboard to compose messages on your bigger screen PlayBook.

Also included in the update are Print To Go & BlackBerry Balance apps let you effectively edit and manage all your corporate data. The updated keyboard now offers better suggestions (predictive text). The BlackBerry App World™ now has variety of new apps and also has a fresh new crop of Android apps as well.
