#-Link-Snipped-# in its press release a few hours back has announced the launch of its android car receiver which will feature a host of added facilities while you are driving your vehicle. Once in market you will see a 3.2" TFT color screen, 4USB ports and RCA. The screen will however be basically non touch type. All these facilities will be commercially available for $349.00. The receiver will be launched as soon as October 8.

The device's front panel can be divided in two parts. A major part is occupied with the TFT screen which includes internet connectivity, phone book, albums and other options. The left gives you command over these functions by providing buttons and a peculiar round control with which you can navigate between home and menu, sound controls etc.
Customers will get to see a miniature version of Google maps to make navigation simple. The car receiver features GPS Dongle which will help them in their location tracking. The cartographic technology gives you a chance to locate nearby businesses and Gasoline stations. The company plans to update the drivers for this service regularly to give you instant alerts on construction and traffic.
Moreover, another facility that you will be able to enjoy is music. Users will be able to steam music into the device through Bluetooth not to mention the inclusion of hands free calling along with host of new features. The Asteroid hardware includes an external microphone integrated with an excellent noise reduction technology.
Speaking of hands free calling, what you merely have to do is speak the name of the person to whom you intend to call. Even attending incoming calls is made easy. If you want to attend a call while in your car all you have to say is "Accept" or "Reject". The calling facility is equipped with Android's text-to speech engine. You will also be able to see a successful implementation of multiuser voice recognition system.
ASTEROID is an advanced application of car receivers which can function on Android. The ASTEROID also gives you assistance while driving via a ‘speed cam warning app’ also called as Wikango. The other applications of the device includes weather forecasting, voice enabled text messages and emails and FM/AM radio.
