Panasonic’s Solar Power Table To Charge Your Gadgets

The electronic goods manufacturing company Panasonic launched its Solar Power Table at the Retail Tech Expo that can charge your electronic gadgets such as your cell phone wirelessly by just keeping your phone on the table for sometime. The Expo took place at the capital of Japan, Tokyo.

In our day to day life, we use many portable electronic gadgets such as our cell phones, iPods, e-book readers and cameras.  All of them exclusively work on the batteries and we often need to charge them. Imagine you are on the move and suddenly your phone prompts you for low battery. Even if you have a power source for charging the phone in your car or so, you have to carry the proper chords which cause a mess. Panasonic has tried to provide for this by its new solar powered table that can charge your gadgets wirelessly. Last year we saw Energizer introduced the first inductive charging mat. The inductive chargers were quite popular which could also charge wirelessly but then they themselves in turn needed a power supply. This table on the other hand has solar panels on the deck and hence need no power supply to them.  Thus the table is boosts the use of solar energy. Once you have the table installed in your restaurant then practically you need zero budget to run it. Another striking feature of the table is that it can charge the battery directly. That is you may not need to have your battery placed inside your phone to be able to charge it. The battery can be charged independently.  This can let you charge your spare batteries with much ease.

There are a few questions about the utility of this table though. Firstly, noting has been said about the ‘time’ required for the battery to get charged fully. We think that this will chiefly depend upon the sunlight available and the size of the solar panel. Secondly, the solar panels reduce the net usable area of the table. Obviously we can not place our gadgets right on the panels for this would obstruct its power source. We can neither make the table ornate by keeping some flower vases or something like that for the same reasons. However, looking at the ease of charging the table provides, we may overlook these few negative points regarding the table.

The places where these tables can be used are cafeterias, restaurants etc. The issue of drained out batteries is so common that mentioning this table’s availability at you restaurant may even actually boost your business.  Panasonic is set to begin the sale in Japan at the end of this year but there is no certain information about how long will it take for the US markets to start selling this product.
