Back in 2004 Apple launched Airplay which allowed wireless streaming of data (Audio,Video,Pics, etc) between devices.
However, it's proprietary stack thus you will need Airplay compatible devices like iPad, iPhone & Airplay supported stereo systems ,etc.
So, recently doubleTwist developers created an Opensource platform under BSD license,#-Link-Snipped-# which can establish the connection to wireless components like TV,audio systems & many more & let you stream the audio.
As magicPlay is an Opensource stack, unlike Airplay you don't need the device which are only compatible to the AirPlay, you can stream music from any device using MagicPlay : from TVs to Stereo systems to #-Link-Snipped-# & also Teach, learn, and make with the Raspberry Pi Foundation. No limitations on devices ! Not to worry about compatibility !
Download the source code : #-Link-Snipped-#
Here's the instruction to turn RPi into MagicPlay device : #-Link-Snipped-#
What's your take on Opensource stack of MagicPlay ?
Will it be harmful for Apple ?
Throw some thoughts, CEans.
