Nokia Lumia 925 Goes On Sale In Germany With Nokia Glance Screen Beta
Nokia Lumia 925, the flagship smartphone of Nokia running Windows Phone 8 went on sale in Germany today. Nokia has also confirmed in the official press release that the phone will make its way to storefronts in other European markets, China, U.S and other countries around the world soon. You have already read how the Nokia Lumia 925 Launch In India Soon. Tech Specs Compared To Man of Steel. have been compared to the Man of Steel (promotional campaign, of course). The feature that Nokia wants its potential buyers to focus on is its Nokia Glance Screen. For starters, Nokia has brought the clock on the standby screen. Remember that the clock until now was only displayed when the screen when you pressed the âlock screenâ button with this new update however the clock will remain visible all the time.
The Nokia Glance Screen will also feature notifications regarding battery level and will give you the option to switch on the night mode which would reduce the glare coming off its huge 4.5 inch AMOLED screen. This is an iteration of the Microsoft Patents Inconspicuous Mode For Mobile Devices that was patented by Microsoft in January. Another trouble that Lumia users have been facing is the effort taken to unlock the screen. Since Apple holds the #-Link-Snipped-# for âSlide to Unlockâ (horizontal swipe), Microsoft had to settle with vertical swipe, which for a 4.5 inch sized phone is quite tedious. But now with the Nokia Glance Screen, users are given the option to unlock the screen with double tap. For the meanwhile the Nokia Glance Screen which is still in Beta will be limited to Nokia Lumia 925 and once its commercial version is finalised it will be dispensed to Lumia users worldwide in the upcoming âAmberâ software update.
In a recent leak involving a âlost and soldâ MSFT Nokia Lumia 920, some upcoming features like Leaked Windows Phone screenshots reveal notification center, UI changes, and more - The Verge etc were revealed. Although Microsoft did not comment on the features, it Microsoft retrieves lost Windows Phone handset running on prototype software - The Verge from the user offered him a commercial version of the phone and requested him to take down the Reddit posts.
