Nokia Gem To Be The Ultimate Customizable Smartphone
It seems that it's now time for other smartphone manufacturers to up the ante to challenge Apple for its domination in the Smartphone market. In this regard Nokia partnered with Microsoft first and then introduced Nokia Lumia 800, Nokia Lumia 710, the Nokia Kinetic - The Flexible phone and now on the occasion of 25th anniversary of Nokia Research Center, Nokia is introducing a handset which has touch screen all over the surface area of the phone and has named it Nokia Gem.

The Nokia Gem concept has been designed to adapt according to the usage of the user, for example the Gem will function like a phone when calls are made and the phone is transformed into a camera while taking pictures. The design concept of the phone is like a precious stone with multiple sides so it has been rightly named as a GEM. Making the phone interactive from both sides can make the Gem a lot of fun. For example you can be zooming into a map to get a closer view on one side keeping the large scale map on the other side of the phone or you can be using the pinch to zoom feature on one side while keeping a full view of the image on the other. Other interesting possibilities could include showing up of ads on the rear of the phone while using it resulting in discounts on bills or you can have a single wallpaper wrapping up the phone completely.
If this is what we are going to have as future of Smartphones then we can guess the level of interactivity with the phones and here's a demo of what we are talking about:
