Nissan has launched it's two new variants to the Nissan Micra car with a facelifted 2013 version and the Nissan Micra Active XE. After having sold more than 43,000 units for the last three years, now Nissan India President Kenichiro Yomura is aiming at a figure of selling 2,500 units of the Micra per month. This premium small car just got refreshed look and an ample amount of features to show off. Along with an optional XTronic ‎CVT gearbox which would return a claimed mileage of 19.34kmpl, the new Nissan Micra 2013 has a driver airbag, new angular headlamps, a wider front grille with chrome inserts, new front bumper and other subtle cosmetic changes for all the eyes to see when it hits the roads.

As you can see from the image below, this new Micra has got LED tail lights and a new set of alloy wheels (available on higher-end trims) for the revised exterior styling, while the interiors are spruced up with brighter fabrics and plastics and a piano black panel on the centre console that houses the restyled air vents and a 2-din stereo. Apart from an exhaustive list of advanced user-friendly features, the uplifted Nissan Micra is the first in segment technology for better fuel efficiency and smooth city driving experience, more convenient compared to normal automatic transmission. Micra Active, on the other hand, takes the value for money proposition of Nissan’s highly acclaimed hatchback to a whole new level. It has sporty exteriors with spacious interiors while adding a lower cost of ownership to the equation.

The fuel efficiency of 1.5 litre diesel variant is 23.08 kmpl (ARAI certified). Improved NVH levels have also resulted in quieter cabins. The 1.2-litre petrol engine develops 75PS of power and 104Nm of torque, while the 1.5-litre diesel motor churns out 65PS of power and 160Nm of torque. The Nissan Micra Active variant carries ABS and EBD systems for higher safety, sporty bumpers and will be available only with a petrol engine. Micra Active owners will also have more than 25 accessories to choose from.

Micra is not just the only product that is undergoing a refresh. Nissan is also looking at refreshing its MUV Evalia, which was only launched last year, but is selling much below its initial target of selling close to 2,000 units per month.
