The latest model called Nikon 1 J5 retains the extremely compact design of the series and features a lightweight body coupled with a comfortable grip. Proudly being flaunted as the advanced camera featuring world's fastest continuous shooting rate at 20 fps and world's shortest shooting time lag, the Nikon 1 J5 is priced at $499.99 (~ Rs. 31,500) along with the 1 Nikkor 10-30mm kit lens and will start retailing in April. Let's take a look at the Nikon 1 J5 specs to find out more about the latest Nikon product.
Among the most ambitious features on the J5 camera's specifications list, there's the 20.8 million pixel count, a backside-illumination CMOS image sensor and the new EXPEED 5A image-processing engine. The fact that Nikon 1 J5 can record 4K resolution videos (3840 x 2160 pixel/15p), makes it a much desired option in its domain. The engineers at Nikon have added the Function (Fn) button to the camera that can be used to assign to a most-used function beforehand. That said, there is a dedicated button for WiFi (and the camera also supports NFC).
As we dig deeper into the primary features list, we find that the Nikon 1 J5 is equipped with the 105 phase-detection advanced hybrid AF system that can be used for precision in rapidly changing scenes. There are a variety of modes for the photographer to choose from, though 'sports mode' works best for capturing moving objects. Additionally, the NIKON 1 J5 offers seven new Creative modes: Pop, Retro, High-contrast Monochrome, Nostalgic Sepia, Cross Screen, Fisheye, and Skin Softening.
Thanks to the Active D-Lighting, which can bring out the details beautifully in highlights or shadows of a movie even in a backlit or high-contrast scene. The NIKON 1 J5 is the first camera in the J series to be equipped with a command dial for smooth adjustment of camera settings. There's also a tilting LCD monitor and a Self-portrait making it super easy to capture selfies.
