Next-Gen Consoles Won't Run Games At 4K Resolution.
Next Generation TVs, 4K Ultra-HD Technology(3840x2160) is soon to be replacing 1080p once the development team will workout in the pricing sector of the new technology.
While, in the recent Yahoo Q&A MS CVP of Marketing & Strategy Yusuf Mehdi told that "XBox One Will support 4K resolution" saying there's no hardware restriction.On the other end, PS4 too said it will be supporting 4K resolution, but only for picture viewing & utilising console except gaming, Gaming in 4K won't be possible in PS4 nor XBOX One.
Some Quick Gaming Numbers at 4K, Max Settings carried out sequence of test in 4K Ultra HD monitor & using World's most powerful GPU, World's Most Powerful GPU : Nvidia Geforce GTX TITAN.
The test-setup included :
Nvidia Geforce GTX Titan is no regular graphics card, it's the most expensive, most powerful graphics card with 4.5 TeraFLOPS costing you around $1000 for a single card.
Now, if we compare the graphics raw power based on FLOPS then XBOX One has peak power of 1.23 TeraFLOPS & Sony's PS4 with 1.84 TeraFLOPS.
Comparing their TFlops data of PS4 & Xbox One, with Nvidia Titan's 4.5 TeraFLOPS we can simply understand that, these consoles which is "next-gen" consoles are not capable to play at 4K resolution.Also, it takes 4xTitan to reach 60fps which means around 18 TeraFlops, which is insane!
Simply, If you're console gamers, you won't be able to play games in 4K resolution in next 6-7 years. For PC Gamers, the development ahead of Nvidia Titan GTX will continuously improve, thus within 2 years, if you see a graphics card capable to run games in 4K resolution then don't be surprised. You have to leave the consoles, if you wanna enjoy gaming in 4K resolution.

Intel Core i7-4770K @ 4.2 GHz, High Performance ModeTesting the games like Metro 2033 & Sleeping Dogs, it took four Nvidia GTX Titan to reach close to 60 fps, at 3840x2160 resolution with all maxed out settings.However, Dirt3 ran at 60fps with just one GTX Titan.
