i am a student of b.tech(computer science).I want to make a project on software using c++. so suggest some new topics. I know only c & c++ basics.

    For a person who knows only basics, developing a logic game is the best thing to do. Go in for developing a TIC-TAC-TOE, or a tetrics game. If you have knowledge of MFC/SDK then you can go in for small utility applicatrions like folder watch, POP3 proxy etc. If intrerested in mathmatics, then you may try to solve the LPP and give in a graphical representation to the output.

    Lots of ideas, lots to do, so little time......

    I suggest you to make a simple game.
    Or if you know port handling of c++ then make some embeded project like stepper motor control
