MusixMatch App Now Available On iTunes & Spotify

Every one of us is very much familiar with the internet movie database popularly know as IMDB And these days with uncountable no. of songs being added to the playlist every day we often find ourselves surfing the web for their lyrics. Sometime this simple task also becomes quite itchy. Although there are a large no of websites offering lyrics but none of them has database large enough for all the songs and moreover there raises the question of legality.

Now musixmatch is the answer to all the above discussions. Founded in 2010, Musixmatch is a new start up which is presently holding the database for all the legal songs and is being considered as the IMDB of songs. Presently it has a collection of over 5.5 million songs in over 18 languages. This being not only legal also meets with all the international rights and management standards. Moreover it also has an API to distribute its lyrics to music publishers, services, app developers, and hackers.

Moving a step ahead musixmatch has officially launched its app for Mac OS. The plug-in will automatically show the lyrics for the music they are playing and it also includes support for iTunes and spotify.  The app being one of its kind still lacks certain features but the team said that the user will soon be able to categorise their search on the basis of artist, song name, key word etc and the added benefit will be that they can share their result over the social networking sites.  It also has an app for the mobile community available of iOS, android, symbian and windows mobile and it is so popular that it has been downloaded for more than 1 million time.

There is another app not similar to this but very much on the same line and it is seen as the sole contender along with musixmatch. Tune-Wiki is one such social music player that provides lyrics long with their app. This battle between these two to rule the market will only get clear in the due course of time.
